From the beginning

Established in 1990, Eastern Districts Academy of Dance (EDAD) has been a leader in the Adelaide dance community, fostering a rich legacy of providing a diverse range of dance forms. Initially known as Eastern Districts Jazz and Tap Academy, in 2000 EDAD expanded its repertoire, incorporating ToddleDance, Classical and Contemporary dance styles. EDAD’s growth led us to relocate to a new, purpose-built studio in 2005, enabling us to accommodate our ever-expanding community.

Our Commitment

At the heart of EDAD’s ethos lies a clear focus: catering to students’ diverse needs, whether it’s mastering new dance forms, pursuing specialized training, or aspiring to become professional dancers.

Our dedication to this is evident throughout our extensive dance programs and opportunities, all designed to nurture every student’s growth as a dancer within and beyond the walls of EDAD. We take pride in offering scholarships to passionate students, aiding them in honing their talents and abilities.

Apart from her many professional qualifications and experience, Lynda is a mother and relates to all the students in her care in a very natural and nurturing manner.

Lynda began dancing at 5 years of age with her favourite style being Tap.  Like most of her students, she enjoyed participating in exams, successfully completing all tap and jazz exams.  She also loves performing.

She became involved in pantomimes run by the Two’s Company, Billo Theatre, and then spent two years performing in cabaret style floor shows, commencing as an assistant teacher at the ag of 13.

As a member of the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD), she has held her full Teacher’s Tap Diploma since 1986.  Lynda established Eastern Districts Academy of Dance (EDAD) in 1990, and the school has enjoyed great success in competitions and exams, with many students continuing through to  attain their Teaching Diplomas.

From 2000 – 2007, Lynda also taught Jazz, Tap, Classical & Modern at St Peter’s Collegiate Girls’ School, forming an extra curricular dance program in the Junior School from pre school to year 6.

in 2008 Lynda was appointed CSTD State Organiser for South Australia.
